About

PARSE is a peer reviewed research publishing project of the Faculty of Fine, Applied, and Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg. Established in 2015, PARSE publishes essays and practice that contribute new knowledge to the fields and disciplines that operate in and around the arts.

PARSE produces an open-access online peer reviewed journal, a biennial conference in Gothenburg on the 46th week of every odd year, more frequent PARSE dialogues and related reading groups as well as publishing news and events.

PARSE is committed to interdisciplinarity and internationalisation as well as an experimental approach to the forms and methods of research publishing and peer review. PARSE encourages submissions of practice and the documentation of practical projects which it publishes alongside and equal to conventional academic research articles. PARSE is also committed to an open rather than anonymised peer review process which provides an ongoing basis for dialogue within the research community.

PARSE does not undertake or conduct research projects, but exists as a publishing, dialogue and conference platform for high quality international research that links the fields within the Faculty.
